Yeonpyeong Peace and Security Training Center

Yeonpyeong Peace and Security Training Center is a vivid site of security education that preserves the buildings damaged by the 1st and 2nd Yeonpyeong Naval Battles and the shelling of Yeonpyeong Island on November 23, 2010, along the maritime NLL after the Korean War. It is the premier location for security training and education. It boasts the pristine natural beauty of the clean Yeonpyeong Sea and its untouched scenery, operating facilities and programs tailored to various levels. It provides security education that reveals the horrors of the Yeonpyeong Island shelling, highlights the importance of the West Sea where peace and tension coexist, and embodies our aspiration for unification. As a experiential site where the pain of the North Korean shelling incident on November 23, 2010, remains vivid, three civilian houses are preserved as they were during the shelling, and debris is displayed, allowing visitors to personally experience the importance of security and the value of peace. Peace Park contains the people's wishes to commemorate the spirits who sacrificed their lives for the country in the Yeonpyeong Naval Battles and the Yeonpyeong Island shelling, and to pray for peace through firm security. The preservation site of Sergeant Seo Jeong-woo's insignia is where Sergeant Seo Jeong-woo heroically fell during the North Korean shelling of Yeonpyeong. His insignia remains embedded in a pine tree, showing the pain and patriotism of that day. At the Naval Battle Park, a high-speed boat of the same model that participated in the Yeonpyeong Naval Battles, an M47 tank, an amphibious assault vehicle, and a large national flag are arranged in the rest area square.
