Gyeonggi Sangsang Campus

A complex cultural space where lush forests, nature, and various arts and culture harmonize. Gyeonggi Sangsang Campus, which experiments with the future and creates a culture of life, is a cultural and artistic complex created by remodeling idle buildings on the former Seoul National University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences site. After the college moved to Gwanak Campus in 2003, the campus and buildings left as idle space were transformed into a cultural and artistic complex by Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation, opening on June 11, 2016. Eight buildings on the campus site, consisting of forests and structures covering a total site area of 152,070㎡, were sequentially remodeled. Preserving the historical architectural value of the Seoul National University College of Agriculture buildings, which well retain the history of different eras, the campus was created to maintain the original appearance as much as possible. Indeed, you can discover traces of the old campus throughout Gyeonggi Sangsang Campus. Building names such as Life 1980, Youth 1981, and Design 1978 combine Korean names reflecting the building's characteristics with the year of construction, embodying the wish for a space where the past and present meet to dream of the future.
