Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Hwaseokjeong is a place where Yulgok Yi I, a great scholar of the Joseon Dynasty, spent his childhood and later years, and various stories related to him are handed down. Imjin Naru is a ferry near Hwaseokjeong that served as a passage connecting the old Uiju-daero on both sides of the Imjin River. However, it is now blocked by barbed wire, and the road cannot be continued north of Imjingak. Therefore, Uiju-gil was extended to Imjingak. At Imjingak, now a symbol of division, we pray for the dream and peace of Uiju-gil that extends beyond the Korean Peninsula to the world. Imjin Naru-gil is a total of 13.8 km and takes 4 hours.
