Old Traditional Doenjang House

Old Traditional Doenjang House is a restaurant near Sanjeongho Lake in Yeongbuk-myeon, Pocheon-si, that cooks with traditional doenjang (soybean paste). The beef radish soup boiled every morning is only made until it sells out and is not prepared again. The owner annually ferments and ages a full array of doenjang jars. Using the aged doenjang, they make doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew). The cheonggukjang jjigae (fermented soybean stew), which is hard to find at home, is also delicious. Whenever you visit, seasonal vegetables and doenjang ssamjang (dipping sauce) are served as side dishes. A meal accompanied by seasonal herbs and tasty kimchi is excellent. Parking is convenient with a spacious dedicated parking lot in front of the establishment.
