Samteo Gallery is a contemporary art gallery that opened in 1978, serving as a cultural and artistic space that has supported the development of modern and contemporary Korean art and the creative activities of domestic and international artists. It has been designated as a cultural heritage site by Seoul Metropolitan Government and is regarded as one of the representative galleries that has led the flow of the Korean art scene for a long time. Since its opening, it has consistently held exhibitions by masters of Korean contemporary art such as Park Seo-bo, Yun Hyong-keun, and Chung Chang-sup, as well as international artists, and has focused on discovering promising artists and supporting their work production and exhibition activities. Additionally, it has participated in major international art fairs in New York, Melbourne, Hong Kong, and China, promoting Korean contemporary art to the world and supporting domestic artists' overseas expansion. In 2007, it became the first Korean gallery to enter the Moganshan Road art district in Shanghai, China, contributing to the internationalization of Korean art and serving as a bridge for exchanges between the Korean and Chinese art scenes.
