The Korean Film Archive, which started as the Korea Film Depository in 1974, is a public institution under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, located in the Sangam DMC complex. It collects, preserves, and provides services for all film-related materials, and operates various public facilities so that everyone can easily and enjoyably experience visual culture. Cinematheque KOFA screens domestic and international classics, art films, and independent films, while the Korean Film Museum offers hands-on experiences of the past history of Korean cinema. The Media Library provides access to the largest collection of film materials in Korea. Additionally, it conducts research and publication projects, runs a mobile cinema program, and offers various online services such as VOD of Korean classic films.
