Why travelers stop here
Kyung Hee University Natural History Museum opened in 1978 to realize the founding spirit of Kyung Hee University, the creation of a cultural world, based on the results of long-term research on nature. The approximately 90,000 specimens preserved in the Natural History Museum have been collected since the 1940s, and include species that have already become extinct in Korea or have recently disappeared as endangered species. Rock, fossil, and animal and plant specimens collected for research by expert professors in each field are displayed on six floors to help visitors easily understand the current state of biological evolution and ecological changes over time. Based on these exhibited specimens, guided tours are provided to help visitors understand and practice the importance of nature conservation and life. Kyung Hee University Natural History Museum aims to educate children and adults alike to systematically learn about the classification and ecology of animals and plants, thereby enhancing their curiosity about nature and awareness of nature protection.
