Located near the main gate of Seoul National University, Gwanak Cultural Center was established to contribute to local community development, satisfy the cultural needs of residents, and enhance their emotional well-being and quality of life. The center offers various cultural school classes, including Hangul calligraphy, Four Gracious Plants (sagunja), Oriental painting, Western painting, literature, traditional dance, health dance, yoga, pansori and Namdo folk songs, a children's choir, and yeak (sijochang). Cultural school courses operate on a three-month basis. Additionally, the Gwanak Gang Gam-chan Festival, held since 2016, honors the great Goryeo general Gang Gam-chan with street parades, a residents' writing contest, and other resident-led events enjoyed by Gwanak-gu and Seoul citizens at Gwanaksan Mountain and Nakseongdae Park.
