Why travelers stop here
The Hanseong Baekje Museum is dedicated to promoting the fact that Seoul is a city with 2,000 years of history. It protects and manages historical sites closely related to the history of the Baekje capital, while conducting research, exhibitions, and education. The museum sheds light on Seoul's ancient history and culture, allowing visitors to reflect on the meaning and value of cultural heritage. The first symbolic exhibit encountered in the museum lobby is a cross-section of the Pungnaptoseong Earthen Fortress wall, which has been thinly sliced and displayed. Exhibition Hall 1 presents Seoul's Paleolithic, Neolithic, Bronze Age, and early Iron Age cultures as a narrative set in the Han River basin. Exhibition Hall 2 covers the 493-year period of the Hanseong capital era, when Baekje was founded, grew, and developed in present-day Seoul. Exhibition Hall 3 deals with the competition among Baekje, Goguryeo, and Silla on the Han River, as well as Baekje's history after the fall of Hanseong.
