Why travelers stop here
Since its opening in 1983, Daboseong Gallery has been dedicated to collecting numerous high-quality antique artworks and valuable historical materials, supplying them to national museums, as well as municipal, public, university, and private museums. It has also protected top-tier cultural properties that were at risk of being taken abroad, and through fierce competition, brought back precious North Korean cultural properties that were being sold to Japan and other countries, playing the role of a guardian of our cultural heritage. Daboseong Gallery annually exhibits small and precious items that our ancestors used in their daily lives. The exhibition includes stationery sets (brush, ink stick, ink stone, and paper), a small frog-shaped inkstone, a censer lid carved with a mandarin duck motif, Silla period earthenware, and Joseon period white porcelain figurines, among other charming small items.
