Bijeon Village is the birthplace of Dongpyeonje, one of the two major schools of pansori along with Seopyeonje. Song Heung-rok, a master singer who founded Dongpyeonje and was honored as the King of Singers, the highest title in the pansori world, was born in this village. He is regarded as a figure who firmly held the central role in the 200-year history of pansori. Next to Song Heung-rok's birthplace stands the birthplace of Master Park Cho-wol, a national master singer.
