Gajeong Green Rural Experience Village

Gajeong Village was first settled by the Miryang Park clan about 300 years ago, forming the village, and is now in its 10th generation. The name Gajeong Village comes from the Chinese character 'ga' (枝), meaning branch. It is called Gajeong Village because it is located on a site with dense forests. Sitting in the shade of the village's forest and gazing at the flowing Seomjin River gives a feeling of being a Taoist hermit. The clear, clean waters of the Seomjin River and the surrounding terrain create an outstanding natural landscape, with abundant fish species such as sandfish, Korean chub, salmon, sweetfish, and Chinese mitten crab migrating and living here, and it is also a treasure trove of natural ecosystems with diverse riparian and aquatic plants. In front of the village, there is a youth camping ground where camping and rafting are possible, and an observatory for stargazing. Across the Seomjin River, there is Gajeong Station, which offers round-trip train travel to Gokseong Train Village, and a 6km cycling and hiking course along the Seomjin River, allowing visitors to enjoy various experiences along with the village's rural experience programs.<br>
