Why travelers stop here
One of the themed forest trails located in downtown Jinju, where you can encounter a bamboo forest that has grown alongside the city for many years. Selected as one of Jinju's 'Top 10 Walking Paths,' the Gajwasan Bamboo Forest Trail features a walking path through a dense bamboo grove. Thanks to this, you can enjoy the cool breeze and fresh air from the bamboo forest throughout your walk. Gajwasan, with an elevation of 116m, operates a test forest for research purposes under the Southern Forest Research Institute of the National Institute of Forest Science. Therefore, along the bamboo forest trail, you can see various types of bamboo in one place, and each tree has its age marked, making observation quite enjoyable. The surrounding forest landscape is excellent, with well-maintained trees, including the Cheongpung Trail, where green tea plants add freshness, and the exotic fern forest trail.
