Why travelers stop here
Carmel Garden, Jeollanam-do's 6th private garden, means 'Garden of God.' It is said that the family reclaimed wasteland, operated Carmel Farm since 1984, raised deer, cultivated landscape trees and green tea, and personally planted trees and flowers they loved. The beautiful garden, consisting of a well-maintained lawn of about 2,600 pyeong, features well-tended garden trees such as pine, juniper, and mountain dogwood that accompany all four seasons, along with a pond and fountain reminiscent of the Korean Peninsula, where the sounds of birds and wind are also beautiful. The beautiful trees and sculptures are not excessive, allowing for a comfortable stroll. Additionally, this place is a leading farm certified as a convergence 6th industry, handling everything from production to processing and sales of deer antlers. It is a large-scale farm with a total area of 12,000 pyeong, including a deer farm, garden, walking trails, cafe, and pension, and is also a leading eco-friendly livestock farm in Jeollanam-do. There are detached pension rooms named after the five major palaces—Gyeonghuigung, Deoksugung, Gyeongbokgung, and Changgyeonggung—making it a rising destination for healing and wellness, where visitors can enjoy the garden's landscape trees and stay overnight for a restful time. Designated as a horticultural therapy farm, it offers pre-booked experiences such as deer feeding and horticultural therapy including meditation, depending on the season.
