The Gangjin Celadon Festival is rooted in the Geumneung Cultural Festival of 1973 and the Celadon Cultural Festival of 1996, and was renamed the Gangjin Celadon Festival in 2009, establishing itself as a festival of South Jeolla Province. Following last year's festival, it has been moved to early spring again this year, offering tourists various sights and activities such as firewood chopping for the climbing kiln, celadon wheel-throwing experience, and celadon plating.
