Gyeongbangnu

Namwon's most famous Chinese restaurant is undoubtedly Gyeongbangnu. Established in 1909, it is a restaurant run by fourth-generation overseas Chinese, boasting 110 years of history and tradition. The main menu items are sweet and sour pork and water jjajang, and the sweet and sour pork is famous enough to rank among the top in the country. While the basic Chinese restaurant menu item, jjajangmyeon, is also delicious, the water jjajang, which has a texture somewhere between red jjamppong and brown jjajang, is a special menu item unique to this place. The sauce, full of the aroma of stir-frying, is combined with the scent of pepper, creating an excellent savory flavor. It became famous after being introduced on various TV programs, including Baek Jong-won's 3 Great Kings, but it is also worthy of recommendation as the best restaurant in Namwon. Gwanghallu is nearby, making it a good place to visit for a walk before or after a meal.
