Gyeongju Cultural Center 1918

Opened in December 2022, 'Gyeongju Cultural Center 1918' is a space where Gyeongju Station, which served as the gateway to Gyeongju for about 100 years, closed with the opening of a new railway line, and its history was reborn as a cultural space. The name was chosen through a public contest, meaning it preserves the history of Gyeongju Station, which opened in 1918, and is reborn as a cultural platform for enjoying culture. This complex cultural space is used for exhibition halls, creative studios for local artists, community rooms, and outdoor plaza performances, operating as a space where citizens interested in culture and arts can experience and exchange various creative activities. Performances are held in the plaza in front of the cultural center, and from April to October, the Saturday regular flea market 'Art & Market 1918' takes place, where artists and citizens meet, featuring sales of various handicrafts, experiential play, and events.
