Gyesongseowon, located in Gyesong-ri, Yeonggwang-eup, is a Confucian academy established in 1966 upon the initiative of local Confucian scholars to commemorate the integrity and loyalty of Ha Dong Jeong-gan and Mi San Jeong-rye-son. A shrine was built on the current site, initially called Donaesa, where ancestral rites were held, and later renamed Gyesongseowon. The rites are held on the 20th day of the second month and the 20th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar. Nearby tourist attractions include Usan Neighborhood Park, Yeonggwang Art Center, Yeonggwang Sportium, Yeonggwang Hyanggyo Confucian School, and Mulmusan Mountain.
