Kosin University Gospel Hospital Medical Library

This is the medical library of Kosin University Gospel Hospital, providing medical and non-medical books, dictionaries, theses, annual reports, and yearbooks. In line with the characteristics of a Christian (Protestant) hospital, it strives not only for physical treatment of patients but also for spiritual healing through evangelism, volunteer activities, hospice work, and the dispatch and support of medical missionaries, contributing to missionary medical social work. In 1993, it established a sisterhood relationship with Longjing City, Jilin Province, China, providing continuous free medical treatment, surgery, and medical support, thereby contributing to medical missions, public health improvement, and national medical development.

In 1951, the first hospital director, Dr. Jang Gi-ryeo, opened the Gospel Clinic, a free hospital, to treat refugees suffering from the Korean War and impoverished patients afflicted by disease. After moving to its current location at 34 Amnam-dong, Seo-gu, in 1957, it continued to develop, opening the second cancer center in the country and the first in the provinces in 1978. It established the Department of Medicine (Medical School) in 1981, reorganized the Gospel Nursing College (founded in 1968) into a four-year nursing program in 1988, and established the Graduate School of Public Health in 1993 to train mid-level health professionals. As an educational and research institution, it actively works to provide high-quality medical care and eradicate diseases in various medical fields.
