Gwaneum Market (Daegu)

Gwaneum Market, located in Gwaneum-dong, Buk-gu, Daegu, is a permanent market that opened in 1994 and is currently in operation. It features small restaurants, rice cake shops, fruit shops, vegetable shops, and dried fish stores. As of October 2021, 25 stores are operating. Although the interior of the market is narrow, many shops are also distributed along the road outside. The area is densely populated with apartment complexes and residential neighborhoods, so many residents of Gwaneum-dong visit. Gwaneum Tteokjip (rice cake shop) located inside the market looks shabby on the outside, but it is famous enough that people line up to wait. Approximately 200 customers visit on weekdays and about 200 on weekends. Nearby tourist attractions such as Palgongsan Provincial Park, Chilgok Hyanggyo, and Unamji are clustered, allowing for linked tours.
