Why travelers stop here
The Media Art Platform is a media art-specialized space consisting of six media exhibition spaces located at Bitgoeul Citizens' Culture Hall and Art Space, designed to allow the public to experience media art in their daily lives. It was established to provide a foundation for Gwangju Metropolitan City, a UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts, to exchange and communicate with creative cities around the world, and to creatively reconstruct artistic, industrial, and social assets through media art, utilizing them as a driving force for sustainable urban development. It comprises six spaces: Hologram Theater, Media Playground, Hologram Facade, Media Art Archive, Media 338, and Digital Gallery. The Hologram Theater is a place where visitors can enjoy content in 3D, and the Media Playground is a play-type experience space that stimulates children's multiple intelligences through media art. The Digital Gallery is a media art exhibition hall located in the first-floor lobby next to the Media Playground. The Hologram Facade is the first rooftop holographic projection attempted in Korea, installed on the roof of the Bitgoeul Citizens' Culture Hall. The Media Art Archive offers a comprehensive view of the history of media art in Gwangju Metropolitan City, and Media 338 showcases the current state of media art in Gwangju Metropolitan City.
