Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Gumidong Beach features a 500-meter stretch of pebbles of various sizes instead of sand, surrounded by a cool, lush broadleaf forest that creates a tranquil atmosphere. There are several guesthouses with restaurants nearby. Convenient facilities are available, and setting up tents for camping is not difficult. Passing the pebble field and walking along the beach, you will see a series of rocks in various shapes. Even within Namhae Island, famous for its beautiful azure sea, Gumidong Beach is considered one of the quietest and cleanest beaches. Instead of a sandy beach, it is covered with fine pebbles, offering a unique charm, and behind the pebble field, large broadleaf trees provide dense shade. Going around the coastal breakwater and heading a bit south, you will encounter a fairly impressive area of oddly shaped rocks.
