Gumi City Central Library

Opened on February 15, 1994, Gumi City Central Library was established to contribute to improving the quality of life and capacity development of Gumi citizens by operating various cultural events and lifelong education programs. The library is a building with one basement floor and four above-ground floors. The basement floor has rest areas such as a cafeteria and a shop. The first floor houses an auditorium, computer training room, adult reading room, seminar room, health management room, conference room, lecture room, office, and director's office. The second floor features an outdoor rest area, children's library, general reading room, audiovisual room, and lounge. The third floor contains a periodicals room, general reference room, and multimedia room, while the fourth floor has an air conditioning room and a book stack. It holds a wide range of materials from domestic and international literature to digital resources and ancient books, allowing citizens to use materials quickly and accurately. It has a total of 215,129 books covering literature, history, art, children's books, etc., and provides both reading and lending services. Additionally, based on the library facilities and collection, it runs cultural lecture programs for Gumi citizens. Representative programs include children's English classes, reading to grandmothers, photography, humanities, and art lectures.
