Mungyeong Daeyasan (930m) Yongchu Valley is the best of the Eight Scenic Spots of Mungyeong, located in the foothills of Daeyasan surrounded by sheer rock peaks and various oddly shaped rocks and stones. Among its many scenic views, the spectacular two-tiered Yongchu Waterfall is famous as a highlight within a highlight. The National Daeyasan Natural Recreation Forest, situated next to this Yongchu Valley, is a forest recreation forest equipped with facilities for citizens to relax in a pristine natural environment. It offers accommodation in the Forest Culture Recreation Center, townhouses, and camping decks, along with various facilities such as a woodcraft experience center, pottery experience center, youth training center, sports facilities, a natural swimming pool created by damming the valley stream, and forest walking trails. Additionally, there are forest experience programs like 'Yongchu Valley Trekking' to learn about the legends of Yongchu Valley and the ecology of various animals and plants with a forest interpreter, and 'Daeyasan, Embracing Water' to understand the ecology and circulation process of water and the forest's water purification, as well as woodcraft experience programs such as pottery making, making a hinoki cypress cutting board, and making a hinoki cypress storage box. These provide an opportunity to easily and funly learn about the importance of nature, with many family participants with children. All programs run twice a day, morning and afternoon, for about 20 people, and are open to both overnight guests and day visitors. Near the recreation forest, there are historically famous sites such as Bongamsa Temple, Gyeon Hwon Historic Site, Ungang Yi Gang-nyeon Birthplace, and Mungyeong Saejae, aiding children's learning, and tourism infrastructure including a pottery exhibition hall, ecological park, clay shooting range, rafting, and a drama open set, allowing for various experiences, sightseeing, and leisure sports.
