This building enshrines and holds ancestral rites for the spirit tablets of Hoeheon Ryu Ui-son (1398–1450) and Gibong Ryu Bok-gi (1555–1617). Initially built in 1615 by Gibong for the study and rest of his descendants, after his death, descendants erected a shrine in 1780 to conduct spring and autumn rituals. The complex consists of a shrine and a lecture hall. The shrine, Chuwonsa, has a gable roof, while the lecture hall, Yeokrakdang, has a hip-and-gable roof. Originally located in Sugok-dong, Imdong-myeon, it was relocated to its current site due to the construction of Imha Dam, which submerged the original location.
