Haneul Park, where the Seoul Eulalia Festival is held, is an artificial garbage mountain 98 meters above sea level created by landfilling various wastes at the former Seoul landfill site. It was transformed into an ecological park in time for the 2002 FIFA Korea-Japan World Cup. In particular, Haneul Park planted eulalia grass to express the restoration of the barren landfill environment to nature, and now the Seoul Eulalia Festival is held every October in the vast eulalia fields in the city center.
