Damjeong Tourist Farm

From the Namgangneung IC on the Gangneung-Donghae Expressway, turn right at Haksan Intersection toward Anin and Jeongdongjin. Proceed about 1km, then follow the sign for Danjeonggol Recreation Area at the first fork on the right. Turn right and enter, passing through Mojeon Village, and continue up a long valley for 11km. At the end of the road, the only place where you can feel human presence is Damjeong Farm. This large-scale farm stretches along a clear valley beneath Mandeokbong Peak (1,035m), covering 198,348m² (about 60,000 pyeong) of primeval forest and a 2.5km-long pristine water stream with no houses. The temperature difference inside this valley is significant, reportedly at least 8°C lower than nearby Gangneung. Even in midsummer, a cool chill is felt, and on windy nights, mosquitoes disappear. Embracing nature, it offers outdoor pavilions and 11 gazebos by the water, providing rest areas ideal for group outdoor events, family weekend outings, and vacations. Additionally, the log cabins serve traditional homemade dishes and Damjeong special liquor prepared by the owner's family, which are considered delicacies. The pork belly grilled on a stone brazier heated with firewood for an hour is also excellent. This place is suitable for group training, family vacations, gourmet trips, and mountain event accommodations.
