Why travelers stop here
Morundae, the 7th of the Eight Scenic Views of Hwaam, is a cliff that looks as if hundreds of feet of rock were carved and erected, with pine trees over 500 years old on top, along with the three brother pines on the opposite side, preserving the rise and fall of a thousand years. According to an old legend, heavenly immortals rode down on cranes and were intoxicated by the scenery, and even the clouds, captivated by the beautiful view, stopped to rest. Below the Morundae cliff, a vast flat rock spreads out where hundreds of people can rest, and clear water flows in the valley, so picnickers are constant in summer. The hiking trail that starts along a small ridge allows views of the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th of the Eight Scenic Views of Hwaam (Hwaam Mineral Spring, Turtle Rock, Hwapyo-ju, Sogeumgang, Morundae), and the Sogeumgang and Seoram seen from Biseondae, Sinseonam, and Geumgangdae are like a piece of Oriental painting. After hiking, dipping your feet in the river at Sogeumgang Valley below Morundae and admiring Morundae gives the illusion of becoming an immortal. However, there is a risk of falling at Biseondae, Sinseonam, and Geumgangdae, so be especially careful, and even more so in winter.
◎ Travel information to encounter the charm of Hallyu - Movie <Decision to Leave> This is the peak of the fictional space Homi Mountain, where a five-hundred-year-old dead tree stands at the edge of the cliff. At Morundae, where the scenery is so beautiful that clouds are said to rest, there is a book-shaped sculpture with a poem that says the end of the world is the beginning of another love. It brings to mind Hae-jun and Seo-rae, who finally face each other on a snowy night.
