Why travelers stop here
Samgye-ri Three-story Stone Pagoda is a stone pagoda located at the entrance of the valley in Samgye-ri, Okgye-myeon, Gangneung-si, on the way up to Daegwallyeong. As you follow the well-maintained road up the valley, it stands at the point where the mountain begins, characterized by its construction of rough black stones. Although it has suffered significant wear and deformation due to long-term weathering, the proportions and basic structure of the three stories remain, allowing a glimpse of the stone masonry techniques of the time. It is currently preserved and managed along with the surrounding landscape, remaining as a cultural heritage that conveys the historical traces of the region.
