Daejeon Museum of Art

Daejeon Museum of Art is the first public art museum in the central region of Daejeon, established in 1998 to contribute to the development of local art as well as modern Korean art, and to help citizens share the fruits of these achievements, thereby enjoying a more relaxed and profound life. The facility includes five exhibition halls, a storage room, an auditorium, and a seminar room. Outside, it consists of an outdoor fountain and a sculpture park. Additionally, as an extension of public education, the museum aims to serve as a venue for living education, moving beyond the passive art culture of simply viewing works to present more active and engaging ways of enjoying art, and to expand its role as a social education institution by operating various educational and experiential programs. Since 2006, it has offered programs ranging from the history of Eastern art to the history of Korean ceramics, Western aesthetics, etching and book art, and life drawing. Nearby attractions include Hanbat Arboretum, Daejeon Municipal Yeonjeong Korean Traditional Music Center, Lee Ungno Museum, and Expo Citizen Square.
