Dongbang Gisa Sikdang

Located in Gwarye-myeon, Goheung-gun, Dongbang Gisa Sikdang serves only daepae samgyeopsal baekban (shaved pork belly set meal). It offers excellent value for money, making it affordable even for solo travelers. The bulgogi baekban at Dongbang Gisa Sikdang comes with a separate grill so you can cook the meat yourself. Alongside the shaved pork belly, twelve delicious side dishes are served. While wrapping the pork belly in lettuce with ssamjang is tasty, for an even better experience, it is recommended to eat it with the accompanying side dishes. The side dishes mainly consist of pickled vegetables and kimchi; notably, the onion kimchi, unique to Dongbang Gisa Sikdang, is refreshing like water kimchi and has a savory flavor that leaves a clean aftertaste when eaten with the meat. Additionally, the flower crab stew is a specialty only available at Dongbang Gisa Sikdang. The stew, made with a broth of doenjang (soybean paste) and a bit of gochugaru (red pepper powder), contains a large piece of flower crab and tofu. With green onions and onions providing the base flavor, the stew is spicy, refreshing, and clean-tasting.
