Moon Art Ground Museum

Maga Museum of Art is a private museum established by Song Beon-su, an emeritus professor of Hongik University and an active fiber artist and printmaker. In 1984, he purchased the current museum site to use as his personal studio and built an art creation studio. Later, additional exhibition spaces were added, and it opened as Maga Museum of Art in 1998. The museum, with a total floor area of 350.46㎡, consists of a single-story studio made of gray bricks and a two-story exhibition hall covering 131.5㎡, along with a 900㎡ outdoor exhibition area. The first-floor Exhibition Hall 1 features special exhibitions of the museum's collection or curated and invited exhibitions introducing various fields of contemporary art, with themes changing periodically. The second-floor Exhibition Hall 2 is a permanent exhibition space for the artist's tapestries and prints, showcasing his major works. Adjacent to it are a tapestry room and a studio where printmaking and sculptural work take place. Visitors can stroll through the outdoor exhibition area with sculpture pieces or rest on benches. Permanent programs include making your own cup, eco-bag printing, and experiences in hanji casting and stencil pouch making, which are printmaking techniques. Meanwhile, Song Beon-su is a senior artist in the field of textile crafts, and his representative work is 'Unfinished Crown.' His works are housed in prominent museums both domestically and internationally. It takes approximately 26 minutes by car from Pogok IC. Nearby attractions include the Korean Lantern Museum, the Tomb of Poeun Jeong Mong-ju, the Tomb of Yi Seok-yeong, and Everland.
