Why travelers stop here
Mandol means 'ten thousand houses,' as if ten thousand chimneys stood there. Mandol Village boasts a mudflat stretching as far as 6km. First, you will be amazed by the vast size of the mudflat, and then you will be even more surprised by the fun of digging up large clams. If the mudflat experience was a gift from the sea, the salt pan experience would be a gift from the sky. The solar salt experience will be a gift of the sky and sea for children. You can enjoy a refreshing feeling by using a tractor-modified mudflat bus across the endless mudflat, and you can experience primitive ecology on Jukdo Island in front of the village, salt pan experiences, torch fishing (a primitive fishing method), and mudflat experiences. Mandol Village features a beautiful landscape where the sea, islands, and rocks harmonize. The white sandy beach of Myeongsasip-ri, the sea sand mudflat, Oejukdo Island, and Dosuryeok Rock are the pride of Mandol Village. Managed directly by the fishing village community, you can experience the living natural mudflat by taking a mudflat tour bus to the seaside. Mandol Village has officially opened a mudflat learning experience center equipped with a comprehensive information center, shower facilities, and parking lots. It also provides various equipment such as mudflat boots, rakes for digging clams, and baskets necessary for visitors' experiences, along with ancillary facilities like a foot washing area and a restaurant.
