Why travelers stop here
Museom Village is a traditional village preserved with beautiful nature and old houses, and it is an island-like village floating in the middle of the land, as Naeseongcheon Stream flows around three sides of the village. In the past, villagers built a bridge by connecting logs to cross Naeseongcheon Stream and work in the fields on the mainland. During the rainy season, the bridge was swept away by the swollen water, and the villagers rebuilt the bridge every year. Until the water supply bridge was built, the single log bridge, which served as the only passage to Museom Village, is a bridge with a length of 150m and a width of only 30cm. Due to its narrow width, one must cross it while leaning on a long pole. The current single log bridge is a reproduction of the only passage that connected the village and the mainland for over 350 years, restored to its former appearance through the efforts of villagers and emigrants.
Every autumn, the 'Museom Oenamudari Festival' is held here. As a representative cultural festival of the Yeongju region, it is held to inherit and enjoy the fading traditional culture. The event includes various attractions and activities such as a night tour of Museom Village, an autumn concert, traditional house cultural experiences, traditional craft experiences, traditional game experiences, and a reenactment of a traditional wedding.
