Gyeongchun Line Forest Trail

서울특별시 노원구 하계동 107-2

Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

The Gyeongchun Line Forest Trail is a retro hotspot created by refurbishing the old railway tracks of the former Gyeongchun Line. It was opened as a private railway on July 25, 1939, during the Japanese colonial period by the Gyeongchun Railway Corporation, and after 71 years of operation, the last train ran on December 20, 2010, leading to its closure. The abandoned railway was gradually transformed into a park starting in 2013, reviving the memories of the Gyeongchun Line and creating a path imbued with new life, reborn as the Gyeongchun Line Forest Trail where visitors can slowly rest and walk alongside nature. Each section features different themes, so there is no time to get bored. It is an excellent course for walking on a nice day.
