Located across from Dongdaemun Pyeonghwa Market in Jung-gu, Seoul, this 5-story fashion town is home to approximately 1,200 stores and 3,000 merchants. The outer area of the first floor features sportswear and accessory shops, while the inner area houses underwear, lingerie, and sock stores. The second floor offers women's and men's clothing, the third floor features young casual wear and suits, and the fourth floor is an export-specialized zone dealing in women's clothing, jeans, and T-shirts, visited by buyers from various countries including China, Japan, Taiwan, India, the Philippines, and Mongolia. Originally named Shinpyeonghwa Market when established in December 1969, it was renamed Shinpyeonghwa Fashion Town in January 1999 and continues to operate.
