Cheong-O Bag Wholesale Mall

This place, called Cheong-O Bag Wholesale Mall, is administratively part of Jongno 5-ga and is collectively referred to as the Cheonggyecheon Bag Shopping District along with the surrounding bag shops. Starting in the 1960s, shops began to appear around Jongno 5-ga and Cheonggyecheon, and as they flourished, they moved into the Cheong-O Building. The first and second floors house clothing stores, while the basement and third and fourth floors are occupied by bag accessory wholesale stores. Cheong-O Bag Mall not only wholesales bags of unique models produced in its own factories to retailers nationwide, but some stores also supply bags to department stores. Although some stores sell various types of bags together, many are specialty stores focusing on one or two items such as handbags, briefcases, travel bags, or student bags. There are also specialty stores for kindergarten bags and academy bags, as well as small item stores for cloth lunch bags and the like.
