Yeonggwang Bapsang

Located in Seocho-dong, Yeonggwang Bapsang is a traditional Jeolla-do local cuisine restaurant known for its neat and heartfelt flavors. For braised fish, there are two options: braised butterfish and braised mackerel, both of which are excellent. The braised fish is made by placing thickly sliced radish on the bottom, topping it with fresh, large mackerel and butterfish, and then adding old pumpkin, potatoes, and sweet potato stems before boiling. Many people are captivated by the spicy yet clean broth. The grilled yellow corvina set meal or grilled yellow corvina rice, which features real Yeonggwang gulbi (dried yellow corvina) served with traditional side dishes, is also delicious. Additionally, skate dishes are a popular menu item here. The skate samhap, which includes thickly sliced skate from Yeongsanpo, boiled pork slices from pigs raised on cactus, and aged kimchi, is a specialty. The skate is available in three types: lightly fermented, moderately fermented, and fully fermented.
