[Baeknyeon Store] Janggun Charcoal Grilled Jokbal

Selected as a Baeknyeon Store by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups in 2018, Janggun Charcoal Grilled Jokbal is a jokbal specialty restaurant that has been thriving in Nowon-gu for over 30 years. It is a representative restaurant in Nowon-gu that turns first-time visitors into regulars once they taste the food. The signature menu item, charcoal grilled jokbal, is made by boiling pig trotters deliciously and then grilling them twice over charcoal to infuse a smoky flavor. Another popular menu item, spicy charcoal grilled jokbal, is made by mixing jokbal with Janggun's special sauce and then grilling it over charcoal, resulting in spicy jokbal imbued with charcoal aroma. Due to the charcoal grilling process, it takes 10 to 15 minutes longer to prepare than regular jokbal. The original cold jokbal is an old-style cold pig trotter dish with a firm and chewy texture like pressed pork, and it pairs exceptionally well with salted shrimp.
