Located on the southernmost beach of Geoje, Garas Mountain is the highest mountain in Geoje with an elevation of 585m. It is on the same ridge as Noja Mountain, where Hakdong's rear mountain is Noja Mountain and Dadae's rear mountain is Garas Mountain. The forest is lush and there are many maple trees, making it the best mountain for autumn foliage among Geoje's mountains. The distinct seasonal changes in the mountain's scenery give it the name Garasan (加羅山), meaning 'as beautiful as silk.' At the summit, there is the Garas Mountain Beacon Fire Station, and from this peak, the areas are divided into Tappo-ri and Dadae-ri in Nambu-myeon, and Hakdong-ri in Dongbu-myeon.
