Why travelers stop here
Cultural Station Seoul 284 is a complex cultural space created by restoring the original form of the old Seoul Station, which was a major stage in Korea's modern and contemporary history and a gateway for transportation and exchange. As a platform for creation and exchange of culture and art, it hosts diverse programs such as exhibitions, performances, and workshops. Starting as Namdaemun Station in 1900, it became Gyeongseong Station, then Seoul Station, and after the old station was closed in 2004, it transformed into a new space. The exterior of the building is a restoration of Gyeongseong Station from 1925. With its exotic European Renaissance-style appearance, it gained popularity for its red brick, granite floor, artificial stone walls, and birch wood floor.
