Wolmi Park

인천광역시 제물포구 월미로 131-31 (북성동1가)

Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Wolmi Mountain was restricted from public access for about 50 years due to the presence of United Nations forces, but in 2001, the city of Incheon took over from the Ministry of National Defense and developed it into a park, opening it to citizens. Wolmi Park has preserved its natural ecosystem well, as it remained untouched by human footsteps for nearly 50 years. The park features a traditional Korean garden created according to the park development plan, consisting of a palace garden, a villa garden, and a folk house garden. The palace garden includes the Buyongji pond of Changdeokgung Palace, the Aeryeonji pond filled with lotuses, the Amisan chimney, and flower beds. The villa garden features Gukdamwon, Soswaewon, and Seoseokji. The folk house garden offers various attractions such as Yangjindang, a traditional architectural style house, a thatched house, an artificial pond, a stream, and rice paddies.
