Wolmi Tourist Zone

Wolmi Island, named for its resemblance to the tail of the moon, is a major stage of modern history, including the Russo-Japanese War, the Byeonginyangyo (French campaign against Korea), and the Incheon Landing Operation, and is a representative amusement park of Incheon. Surrounding areas feature cafes, restaurants, accommodations, and theme parks, making it a popular destination for dates and family outings. Wolmi Island also houses the Korean Immigration History Museum, where visitors can explore the immigration history of Korean ancestors. With amusement facilities, it is also a frequent spot for young people. The Wolmi Tourist Zone, centered around Incheon's old downtown, offers glimpses into Korea's modern history and culture. Due to the influx of modern civilization through the port facing the Incheon coast, it is rich in modern architecture and cultural heritage from the port opening period. Within the Wolmi Tourist Zone, the Chinatown, part of the open port area, provides insights into the past and present of Chinese people who came to live in Korea, featuring various Chinese restaurants, modern museums, and exhibition halls. Every spring, the Jayu Park Cultural Tourism Festival and the Songwol-dong Fairy Tale Village Festival are held.
