Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Seungbongdo is an island located approximately 50 km southwest of Incheon Yeonan Pier. It is said that the island was named Seungbongdo (昇鳳島) because the entire island resembles a phoenix soaring into the sky. Iille Beach is a beach on the southern coast of this island, with a white sand beach about 1,300 m long and 40 m wide, featuring a gentle slope and shallow water depth. Thus, even at low tide, no mudflats appear. Behind the sandy beach, a dense forest spreads out, creating a cool atmosphere, and it is also close to the quiet Janggol Beach. Additionally, there is a large vacant lot, providing good conditions for group visitors, and the only village on Seungbongdo is a local tourism village fostered by the Ongjin County Agricultural Technology Center. This place not only has well-equipped guesthouse facilities but also a shower room that uses about 400 tons of groundwater per day, leaving a deep impression on vacationers.
