Ganghwa Ham Sang Park

인천광역시 강화군 내가면 해안서로 855

Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Ganghwa Ham Sang Park is a space that has been regenerated by preserving the 'Masanham' (ROKS Masan) as much as possible in its original form, which protected Korea's seas for 34 years since its commissioning in 1985 and was decommissioned in 2019. Here, visitors can indirectly experience naval life and various combat equipment on a warship that is usually difficult to access. The ROKS Masan is a Korean frigate that was launched on October 26, 1984, and commissioned on July 20, 1985. A total of nine Ulsan-class frigates were built and used as the main combat vessels of the Republic of Korea Navy. It was the first domestically produced frigate to cross the Pacific Ocean and participated in the RIMPAC exercise. It was selected as the Navy's best gunnery ship and received the Presidential Unit Citation for its active service before being decommissioned in 2019.
