Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Mirim Theater began in November 1957 by setting up a tent in Songhyeon-dong, Incheon, to screen silent films, and later became a historic cultural space that long represented Incheon's cinema scene, beloved by citizens. Forced out by the rise of multiplex theaters, it closed on July 29, 2004, after the final screening of the film 'Two Guys,' temporarily leaving the citizens. After nine years, in October 2013, it reopened as Memory Theater Mirim with a new renovation. Launched in October 2013 as Incheon's first and only silver-only theater, Memory Theater Mirim, with community support, has established itself as a new landmark and a silver-centered family cultural space in Incheon. Additionally, as a designated art film screening venue by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, it consistently introduces hidden domestic and international independent art films and strives to promote film culture by collaborating with local film festivals. It is close to Exit 4 of Dongincheon Station, making it easy to visit via public transportation.
