[Ganghwa Nadeul-gil Course 2] Homeland Fortification Trail

Ganghwa Nadeulgil refers to a trail that connects the dundae (military outposts) located every 1.3 km along the coast, the paths linking Ganghwasanseong Fortress, and the routes encircling the Goryeo royal tombs. It is a path where you can enjoy nature—mountains, fields, and the sea—along with cultural heritage sites.

Ganghwa Island is so rich in historical sites that the entire island can be considered a museum. It features Bronze Age relics including dolmens, as well as the Goryeo Palace site and Goryeo royal tombs, which bear traces of the Goryeo dynasty's relocation to Ganghwa to resist the Mongol invasions. From the Joseon dynasty, there remain Ganghwasanseong Fortress and the coastal installations of 5 jin, 7 bo, 8 podae, and 54 dundae. Additionally, visitors can enjoy the beautiful sunset over the West Sea, the natural tidal flats, Marisan Mountain, Goryeosan Mountain, and the peaceful rural village scenery along each course.
