Joyang Textile

Established in 1933 with domestic capital, Joyang Textile was the first rayon factory in Ganghwa County. As time passed and Ganghwa's textile industry declined, it fell into disuse and became an abandoned building. The dilapidated structure was reborn as a massive café. The crumbling walls became a splendid art gallery and cinema, the long workbenches were transformed into coffee tables, and the space, once empty of machines and people, was filled with antiques sourced from China and Europe. Items such as a British door with a broken glass pane, a round mirror from an old Czech train, and a fish-shaped pastry machine that struggled to flip itself every winter are naturally arranged as if they had always been there, preserving the factory site and building framework of over 990㎡ (approximately 300 pyeong) and leaving stories of time throughout the café. Currently, it sells various beverages and cakes.
