Noksu Valley

경기도 가평군 상면 덕현리

Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Located in Deokhyeon-ri, Sang-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, Noksu Valley is a valley formed by the beautiful Cheongusan Mountain (619m) and the clear and clean Jojongcheon Stream, featuring clear water and a dense, tall forest. Water flows along the flatland, and the river is wide, deep, and abundant in volume, giving it more of a riverside feel than a forest valley. Water play in Noksu Valley is enjoyable in spring, summer, or autumn. Low banks are built in the middle of the valley to occasionally stop the flow of water, dividing it into areas with fast currents and areas where water pools, suitable for water play. Safety is managed by section, and some people provide life jackets for rent. As you go upstream, the valley narrows and there are deep spots, so caution is needed during water play. There is no separate parking lot, so cars are sometimes parked on the roadside upstream. Occasionally, people cook near the stream, but this is a no-cooking zone, so cooking is prohibited. Along the valley, you can climb the modest Noksubong Peak (370m), and nearby Gitdaebong Peak, Cheongusan Mountain, Bulgisan Mountain, and Daegeumsan Mountain are connected by ridges, allowing for ridge hiking as well.
