Why travelers stop here
Hong Nan-pa Birthplace is the birthplace of Hong Nan-pa, a pioneer of modern Korean music and the composer of the children's song "Spring of Hometown" and the art song "Bongseonhwa." Hong Nan-pa was born here in 1898 and left a significant mark on the development of modern Korean music, contributing to laying the foundation of the Korean music scene as a composer, violinist, and music educator. The current birthplace building was restored in 1986 after the original structure was lost, featuring a wooden thatched-roof, four-bay L-shaped structure. It consists of two rooms and a kitchen, with a modest yard that conveys the atmosphere of an old rural house. Additionally, inside the building and under the eaves, portraits of Hong Nan-pa and photos from his lifetime are displayed, offering a glimpse into his life and musical world.
